Barry Horne captained Wales on many occasions in his 59 caps and counts Everton, Wrexham, Southampton and Portmsouth among his clubs in a long professional career. After retiring he went to teaching, but has also served as Director of Football at Wrexham AFC, and advisor to Wrexham Supporters Trust an was Chair of the Professional Footballers Association.

Wedi iddo ymddeol daeth yn athro, ond hefyd mae wedi gwasanaethu fel Cyfarwyddwr Pêl-droed i CPD Wrecsam, bu'n cynghori Ymddiriedeolaeth Cefnogwyr Wrecsam, a bu'n Gadeirydd i'r Gymdeithas Pêl-droedwyr Proffesiynol.
